Barney Lake:
With a sandy beach for wading and for viewing the 11,3500 foot tall Crown Point, Barney Lake at 8290 feet in elevation makes for a prime photography spot. Barney Lake is one of the numerous lakes in the Toiyabe National Forest. The trailhead is located near the parking lot of the Mono Village Resort at Twin Lakes. Barney Lake is roughly 4.5 miles from the trailhead and Peeler Lake is roughly another 4.5 miles from Barney Lake.
Canon Photography Tip:
One of the coolest things about water is its mirror-like ability to reflect images. The next time you see a still body of water, check to see which parts of the landscape around it are being reflected in it.

Navajo Falls:
Navajo Falls is the first prominent waterfall in the Havasu Canyon in Arizona. Named after a Supai Chief, Navajo Falls tumbles 75 feet into a refreshing pool. This is an excellent spot to stop on the trail for swimming. The beautiful blue-green water cascades over Navajo Falls.
Canon Photography Tip:
When photographing waterfalls, use a tripod! A tripod will have the greatest impact on improving new waterfall pictures. Consider a polarizing filter on your lens, to deepen the color of water and minimize reflections. Any landscape picture will benefit from a polarizer but in the case of waterfall pictures, the effect is magnified because of
the water.

Grand Canyon
National Park:The Grand Canyon is a steep-sided gorge carved by the Colorado River in the state of Arizona. It is largely contained within the Grand Canyon National park – one of the first National Parks in the United States. The forested rims are high enough to receive winter snowfall, but along the Colorado River in the Inner Gorge, temperatures are similar to those found in Tucson and other low elevation desert locations in Arizona.
Canon Photography Tip:
You need 2 environmental conditions in order to have a chance capturing a stunning sunset: Dust or humidity, and Clouds in the air. The red-orange of the setting sun results from humidity and dust. Clouds also add a critical factor. Thick clouds or wispy ones – it doesn't matter. Each will provide a unique effect.

Half Dome Yosemite National Park:
Half Dome stands at the elevation of 8,842 feet. It is made up from a type of granite, plutonic rock. Yosemite National Park’s Half Dome’s missing half is presumed to have fallen off when the Ice Age glaciers passed through.
Canon Photography Tip:
Don’t put your camera down when it’s cloudy, foggy or rainy. Some of the most impressive landscape and nature shots occur in these conditions. Use a little care to keep your equipment dry, and you’ll often be rewarded with great results.

Arches National Park:
(Moab, UT)Arches National Park preserves over 2,000 natural sandstone arches, like the world-famous Delicate Arch (seen here), as well as many other unusual rock formations. The extraordinary features of the park create a landscape of contrasting colors, landforms and textures that is unlike any other in the world.
Canon Photography Tip:
Keep it simple. Identifying the location of interest and avoiding distracting backgrounds will help to keep the picture clear. Zoom in to clear out irrelevant parts of the scene and capture just what you’re looking for.
